The structure of a traditional Italian meal differs from other food cultures. Generally speaking around the world a meal is made of a main dish (often fish or meat), preceded or followed by secondary courses – starters and sweets. However, in Italy, meals are traditionally based on two main courses, the Primo and the Secondo, both of equal importance.

This part of our website will serve as a guide to ‘when Italians eat what’, as well as starting point for our wonderful collection of recipes. Enjoy!
